Carmilla '86 Deluxe Edition Quaint City After Dark

This paperback version of Carmilla '86 features a bonus story about the rock band Hatchett Grannies.

The first time I met her, I was so hammered that, for a long time, I couldn’t be entirely sure it wasn’t a dream. The feel of her strong fingers digging into my arms, her warm breath on my skin, haunted me through so many nights alone that I lost count. Laura, Carmilla '86

Laura's life should have been like, totally perfect. She'd escaped her stifling small town life for a big city college, with a gorgeous roommate, Bertha, and the possibility of finally being able to be her authentic self, without her protective father hovering over her. When she meets a gorgeous woman full of fire and passion at a kegger, she thinks this is finally the moment she can admit to herself the things that lurked in the shadows of her mind. But then she stumbles on Bertha's dead body and those feelings get shoved right back into the closet they came from.

Years later, she is called back home to help her father after an illness, and it's driving her crazy. Then, on a foggy summer night, she pulls over to help a stranded driver and finds the woman of her dreams. Or.. is it like, a totally bogus nightmare?

Set between 1986 and modern times, Carmilla '86 is a campy retelling of the classic lesbian horror novella Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu. Weaving in beloved vampire tropes with a strong does of eighties references, Carmilla '86 is a horribly beautiful love letter to the original work.

This work also features a bonus short story called Hatchett Grannies. Jane Hatchett has been alive for more than two hundred years and for one hundred and ninety four of them she’s been in love with her best friend, Annie. Annie is a siren, and together they’ve made some beautiful but unfortunately platonic music.

But now it’s the bitchin’ eighties and devilish record exec Lark Dixon is offering Jane’s band a chance at the big time… only Jane and Annie can’t risk the limelight. When Lar
